Nada B. Adkins, born on January 25, 1936, departed this life on November 19, 2025, at her residence. A beloved mother and cherished individual, Nada's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her generous spirit.
Nada is survived by her four children, who carry forward her legacy: Jerry (Sherry) Adkins, Gary (Susan) Adkins, Melinda (Jimmy) Justice, and William "Bucky" (Carrie) Adkins. They hold dear the memories of their mother's warmth, wisdom, and the countless lessons she imparted throughout her life. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Nada was also surrounded by the most loving caregivers, Rella Jarrell, Cindy Reed, Jenny Adkins, Robin Adkins, and Paula Sturgill.
Nada was predeceased in death by her husband, Abner Adkins Jr., her parents, Arthur and Billie Branham, and sisters, Theda Cobbs and Carole Bowling, who were all significant figures in her life and contributed to the fabric of her childhood and family memories.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Lucas & Son Funeral Home located in Pikeville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM for the public; the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park Cemetery, Pikeville, KY. As they come together to celebrate her life, many will recall the love she extended to all she encountered, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
