Nadine Phillips Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Feb. 12, 2026.
Nadine H. Phillips, 86, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026 at home surrounded by her family in her hometown of Salisbury, Maryland. Born on August 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Helen Hastings.

Nadine's early years in Salisbury laid the foundation for a life filled with family and faith. After graduating from high school, she began working as a secretary for DP&L. She paused her career to focus on raising her two sons, later returning to the workforce where she spent several decades as a secretary for the State of Maryland. Nadine was also a dedicated member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and attended church her whole life. She was the heart of her family-a loving, devoted woman who centered her life around those she cherished most. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Leon Phillips; brother, Buddy Hastings; and nephew, Jay Ball.

Nadine is survived by her two sons, Michael and Jeffrey (Stacey) Phillips; four grandchildren, Morgan Wilson (Cody), Andrew Phillips, Logan Phillips (Kenzie), and Austin Phillips; one great-grandchild, Charlotte, with another on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Peggy Hastings; nephews, Dale (Crissy) Hastings and Barry (Kelly) Hastings; a great nephew, Colton (Taylor) Hastings; and great-niece, Jada (Ethan) Cussatt.

As we say goodbye to Nadine, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman dearly loved. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Nadine's journey on this earth has ended, but the impact of her love and friendship will remain forever.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 10:00am at Holloway Funeral Home 501 Snow Hill Rd. Salisbury, Md 21804. With a visitation one hour prior.

One of my favorite cousins, she always had a smile for me when I was just a child and as an adult. She was truly one of the kindest souls I ever met. I have SO many memories of her and Buddy. I will truly miss her. God rest you, Bootsie! I know you are still hugging Aunt Helen, Uncle Clyde, Mom Mom, Leon and laughing at Buddy. With love, Gail and Alan

Aunt Bootsie was, and always will be, a woman with a wonderful spirit and heart full of love. Always had an open door for our family. She touched my life in so many ways. Aunt Bootsie will be truly missed.
