Nancy Ann Stone, age 90, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, in Blountstown.

Nancy loved people and could carry on a conversation with anyone she met. She always cared more for others than herself and often said she could not have been blessed with a better home, childhood, or parents. A hard worker all her life, Nancy and her husband, Earl, owned and operated gas and grocery stores in Wewahitchka and Pine Island. She later retired from the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, where she faithfully served for 12 years under Sheriff Buddy Smith.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Blountstown Health and Rehab for their loving care, to Dr. Misbah Farooqi for being both a doctor and a friend for many years, and to Vitas Hospice for the comfort and compassion shown during Nancy's final days. Special gratitude also goes to her nephew and wife, Terry and Debbie Stone, for their many years of love and support, and to her cousin, Sandra Smith, for the haircuts, peas, and kindness she shared so often.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents, Ben and Jimmie Stone; and her brothers, Frank and B.H. Stone. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth and David, both of Blountstown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy is finally home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her loved ones-free from pain, tears, and worry.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday August 21, 2025, at Nettle Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM CT and service at 10:00 AM CT. Peavy Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
