Nancy Arrant, 92 of Blountstown, Florida, peacefully passed away March 12, 2025. Lovingly known as "Nannie" by multiple generations, she was born in Umatilla, Florida on December 29, 1932, to the late James and Annie Moran. At a young age her family moved to Bristol, Florida where, at the age of 15, she met her husband to be, Joseph B. Arrant, at a square dance. Nancy and JB began their marriage of 57 years in 1949 until his passing in 2007. After marrying they moved to Blountstown, Florida. Raised in the Pentecostal Holiness church, Nannie was a member of Abe Spring PH Church. Nancy is survived by two sons, Steve Arrant (Linda Arrant deceased) and Tony Arrant (Kathy Arrant); four grandchildren, Steve Arrant, Jr., Amanda Darvill, Caroline Arrant, and Matthew Arrant. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sandra Nicole Stone Arrant. Nannie was also loved by five great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. She valued her time with family and was fond of saying "we are making memories." Her family treasures those memories. The fourth of nine children and the oldest daughter, she was preceded in death by her brothers Frank, Billy, Robert, and Hampton Moran, and by her sister Lucrecia Mayo. Survivors include her brother Wilber Moran and her sisters Julia Richter and Tiny White. Always a hard worker, Nancy never finished high school. A life-long reader and learner, she decided to complete her high school education, and in 1977, she received her High School Diploma which she proudly displayed in her home. Services will be held at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel (Blountstown) at 10 a.m. CST on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, with visitation held one hour prior to the service. A private family internment will follow at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol, Florida. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may make a contribution to the Calhoun County Senior Citizens Association or the Liberty County Senior Citizens Association. All Arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home of Blountstown FL.
