It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Louise Barton, who departed this life on September 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 27, 1946, in Brockville, Ontario, Canada, Nancy embraced life in every capacity, eventually finding her home in Midlothian, Virginia, where she shared countless cherished moments with her loving family. Nancy loved the ocean, good music, and every moment spent with her family and friends.
While raising her children in central Virginia, Nancy held a dedicated role as an Administrative Assistant with Chesterfield County Schools. This role allowed her not only to follow her passion to help educate young children, it provided the opportunity to spend cherished time during holidays and summers with her own children. Above all, Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy was preceded in death by Arthur Brown and Mary Brown. She is survived by her unwaveringly devoted husband, Stephen Barton; her beloved children, Karen Barton and Michael Barton; daughter-in-law, Kara Barton; and her treasured granddaughters, Nicole Czyzewski, Hadley Barton, and Ainsley Barton . Each of them carries a piece of Nancy's joyful spirit and unconditional love, a gift that will continue to inspire all who knew her.In celebration of Nancy's life, a funeral service will be held at Amelia Presbyterian Church on September 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 PM, as we come together to honor her legacy and the profound impact she had on all of our lives. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest next to her Mother and Father at Dunn Cemetery (on Church grounds), with interment scheduled for 2:00 PM at 16401 Dunn Rd. Reception to follow. As we remember Nancy, let us celebrate her kindness, laughter, and the countless memories that will forever reside in our hearts. She will be deeply missed. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our lives and may she rest in peace.
