Nancy L. (Noel) Bunty, age 85, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2023 at Hanover Hall. She was the loving wife of Joseph J. Bunty, Sr; together they shared 49 years of marriage.
Nancy was born in Hanover on June 7, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Wilbert F. and Margaret (Hamilton) Noel. She graduated from Delone Catholic High School Class of 1956 and worked as a teller at Adams County National Bank in Gettysburg, McSherrystown, and Hanover. Nancy was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover where she served as a volunteer, including baking for the bereavement group. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and often volunteered at the library and clothing banks. Above all, Nancy enjoyed time spent with her loving family, children, and grandchildren. Nancy's family remembers her as generous and selfless beyond compare.
In addition to her loving husband Joseph, Nancy is survived by her children Christopher E. Spangler and wife Lauren Shapiro Spangler, Cathy Spangler Bruce and husband Kevin Bruce, and Joseph J. Bunty, Jr. and wife Jennifer Eisenbeil Bunty; and her grandchildren Zoë, Zachary, Paige, Blair, Ian, Emma, and Joey. She is also survived by her siblings Steven Noel and wife Camille Gambino Noel, and Gail Elliot and husband Neal Elliot.
Relatives and friends are invited to Nancy's Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Rd., Hanover, PA 17331 with Rev. Samuel Miller as celebrant. She will be laid to rest following the Mass at Conewago Chapel Cemetery in Edgegrove. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with prayers at 6:30PM, and on Thursday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy's memory may be made to Delone Catholic High School, 140 S. Oxford Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344.
