Nancy Lee Bunty

On June 12, 2024, Nancy L. Bunty, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Bunty and daughter of the late Harry and Sophie Ritz. Nancy is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Patrick) Kelly and Kristie (Bryan) Zises; grandchildren, Thomas, Nora, and Ingrid Kelly and Henry and Lucy Zises. Born and raised in the South Side, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, later returning to earn an MLS degree. After working as a teacher and school librarian, Nancy devoted her time to her family. An avid reader, Nancy loved meeting up with family and friends for lunch. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, intelligence, and genuine interest in everyone she met, always ready to listen to any troubles or good news and lending support and help to everyone who needed her. Her family will cherish all the wonderful memories of summer vacations at the Myrtle Beach house and special times and perfect holidays at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Nancy's life, well lived, leaves a beautiful legacy reaching far into the future, not only affecting the lives of those she knew and loved, but also allowing them to pass that love and those caring ways on for generations to come, as we honor her by sharing the gifts she's always freely given to us.
