Nancy Grace Christopher, age 78, passed away on November 17, 2025 in Monahans, TX. She was born on April 24, 1947 in Brownwood, TX to Alvis and Lea (Rose) Abernathy. Nancy married Billy Wayne Christopher on October 21, 1972 in El Paso and they celebrated 22 years together before his death in 1995.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that devoted much of her time as a caretaker for her daughter and granddaughter. She was lovingly called "Granny" by her grandkids and great-grandkids. Nancy was a very social person who loved to visit with people. She loved to collect cookbooks and antiques. Nancy also enjoyed working outside and was a very inquisitive person who loved to ask questions and learn. She was a big supporter of the American Cancer Society and a member of the Church of Christ. Nancy will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Christopher; parents: Alvis and Lea Abernathy; daughter: Sheila Potter; son: Mike Christopher; and sisters: Patsy Burkhalter and Janie Brandenburg.
She is survived by her son: Roy Christopher and wife Cindy of Monahans, TX; grandchildren: Becky Potter, Emily White, Danny Christopher, Steve Christopher, and Eric Christopher; numerous great-grandchildren; and good friend: Richie Kelleher.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel, officiated by Roy Christopher.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Cal Farley Boys Ranch.
