Nancy Garland Dixon


Belmont - Nancy Garland Dixon (Woods) died on October 12, 2022 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas NC, after living with Alzheimer's disease for many years.

Nancy was born in Exeter (Rockingham County), NH on August 18, 1960 to Kenneth Charles Woods and Barbara Garland Woods.

She lived in Hampton, NH and graduated from Winnacunnet High School in 1978. She graduated from Lesley College with her teaching degree in 1982 and moved to Houston Texas to become a special education teacher. Nancy loved teaching and was a much loved and respected teacher.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Charles Woods and her mother Barbara Garland Woods.

She is survived by her daughter Sara Lyn Zatopek (Shane Dicristina), her sister Susan Debra Clark (Gary G. Clark), and brother Stephen Sawyer Woods (Zuzanna (Suzie) Woods). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Jessica Erin Alexander, Jeremy Frederick Clemens, Rachel Woods, Alexander Woods and a grandnephew Daniel Cuttino Alexander and grandniece Rowan Alana Clemens.

Nancy loved her daughter Sara with her whole heart and enjoyed participating in all Sara's activities. She was a Girl Scout mom, and went camping with Sara. Nancy and Sara raised butterflies and raised a puppy they had rescued from the side of the road. They visited New Hampshire every summer to visit with Nancy's parents either in Hampton or in Barrington and then Enfield at Mascoma Lake.

There are no services scheduled at this time.
