Nancy M. Doehring of
Lakeland, FL. went home to be with the Lord Jesus on April 29th, 2025 after battling a long illness with Multiple System Atrophy. Nancy was the youngest of 5 children. She was born on January 12th, 1949, to Darell and Mildred Doehring of Brownstown, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lyle Doehring and sister Mary Lou Shay.
Nancy is survived by her husband Douglas Hampleman of
Lakeland, FL, brothers Sonny Doehring (Cindy) of Birmingham, AL and Chuck Doehring (Linda, late) of Brownstown, Illinois, 7 nieces, 7 nephews, 10 great nieces, 20 great nephews and several great-greats.
She is also survived by her daughters Annette (Jenkins) Proodian of Wellington, FL (Kevin) and Janette (Jenkins) Menosky of Boynton Beach (Chuck), Murdoch Jenkins IV of Lakeland (Amy), and 5 grandchildren, Dawson Proodian, Madison Proodian, Quin Menosky, Carey Jenkins,
Murdoch Jenkins, V.
Nancy enrolled in beauty school at 15 and graduated from high school in Centralia, Illinois. She worked as a beautician to put herself through college, eventually graduating from Southern Illinois University with a master's degree in education and counseling.
She worked as a teacher in Illinois and St Louis before moving to Florida to start her career in real estate. She developed real estate and owned, managed and maintained rental properties for many years.
Nancy belonged to and faithfully served First Baptist Church of
Lakeland, FL. in various capacities for many years. She was also an active Sorority Sister of the Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years. Nancy was a world traveler and collected artifacts from many countries. Her renowned teapot collection, while second to none in its scope, was viewed with wonderment and amazement by friends and family alike.
Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew her for her grace, wit, style, concern for others and her love for the Lord.
