Nancy Engert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Dec. 27, 2025.
Nancy Jean Engert, age 86, of Mt. Perry, Ohio and formerly of Galena, Ohio passed away at home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born on December 12, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert Leigh Davis and Mary Louise Williams Davis McKinley.
Nancy married her love, Terry Wayne Engert, Sr., on April 3, 1958. Together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2006.
Nancy attended Genoa Baptist Church for many years and formed friendships within her church family. She worked with and enjoyed an all women wallpaper hanging business and created many personal and professional relationships within the community.
Nancy loved flowers and gardening and was a fantastic cook. Her family delighted with the many different dishes she would serve them when they were visiting. Nancy was talented at making various crafts, especially her dolls. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals fan who enjoyed watching the games and cheering on her teams.
Nancy was also an animal lover who gave a home to numerous dogs over the years. She was a beautiful, wise, bright woman who exuded positive energy. When people met Nancy, they knew she was a giving and special lady and that she would always be of help to whomever she could. Nancy had the heart of an angel and will never be forgotten. She will be forever loved and missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark (Sheri) Engert and Scott (Mabel) Engert; daughter, Sheri (Jeff) Annis; grandchildren, Korey and Jacob Annis, Celina Hudgens, Amber Kohlberg, Ashley and Colleen Engert; stepgrands, Josh, Chad, Greg, and Holly; great-grandchildren, Grady, Oakley, Arlo, Maddux, and Hazel; brothers, Matt Davis, Ronnie Davis, Luke (Ruth) Davis, Gary "Tommy" (Anna) Rodgers; brother-in-law, Brad Engert; her beloved dog, Poco; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Davis and Mary McKinley; stepfather, Elmer McKinley; husband, Terry Wayne Engert, Sr; and son, Terry Wayne Engert, Jr; sisters-in-law, Vicky Engert and Karin Engert.
