Nancy Jo Freeman “GG”, age 90, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Prisma Health Hillcrest Hospital.
She was born November 28, 1934 in Gray Court, SC and was a daughter of the late Jay Riley Whittaker and Mattie Ruth Manley Whittaker. Nancy loved Bramlett Methodist Church, she was a good and faithful woman, who loved serve the Lord. Over the years, Mrs. Freeman served on many church committees but most Sundays could be found keeping children in the nursery. She loved reading scripture and sitting with her husband under the magnolia tree. She was also an exceptionally good cook, who always made the best banana puddings.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles Gene Freeman; her children, Phyllis Osborne, Tim Freeman (Wanda), and Rodney Freeman; her grandchildren, Catherine Hershman (Brad), Justin Freeman, and Kevin Freeman; her great-grandchildren, Lily, Hunter, Hudson, and Lila Hershman; her siblings, Sammy Whittaker, Jerry Whittaker, Totsi Walker, and Peggy Rainey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, George Whittaker, Billy Whittaker, Jack Whittaker, Talmadge Whittaker, and Libby Coker.
Graveside Services will be held, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1 PM at the Bramlett Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Fahrney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bramlett Methodist Church, 2043 Bramlett Church Road, Gray Court, SC 29645.
