Nancy L. Gillespie passed away on September 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy is predeceased by her parents Steve and June Emerick, brothers Steve and John Emerick. She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband Stephen Gillespie, brothers Ron (Laura) Emerick and Jim (Patty) Emerick plus several nieces, nephews and grandchildren as well as her faithful Bassett hound Tuggers Stealth-bomber Gillespie and cats Luca and Squeaks.
Nancy's most treasured life items were her husband Steve, her brothers, rescued animals and she said she had the best friends in the world. She was always a positive person, finding the best in all situations- good and not so good. She spent her career working in human resources, using her charm and knowledge to always do her best. She especially loved her job at Unity House. She said it was the " best job ever". In her lifetime she was a weight lifter, car fanatic, avid golfer, and explorer. She enjoyed collecting blue glass, cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies, camping trips, her annual vacations at Ocean City with friends, weekends at the lake house, shopping for the best deal (haggling as often possible for a better price), disco dancing with her brother Jimmy at the clubs, driving her corvette, helping with numerous events at the Castle Creek UMC and craft fairs, showering her friends and family generously with love and always shining her light to make everyone as happy as possible at all times. Her indomitable spirit has blessed all that have had the joy of being part of her journey.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to: Dr Sethi, Sarah Batschelet NP, Dr Horowitz and the wonderful dedicated staff of the Cayuga Cancer Center plus devoted friends and family that touched her life including her friends at the Castle Creek & Glen Castle United Methodist churches.
