Nancy Delores Goodwin, age, 87, a beloved member of her community and family, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 17, 2025, at the Crestview Healthcare Center in Brownsville, TN. A visitation will be held on January 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home, located at 107 S Lafayette Ave, Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Nancy will be laid to rest at the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery following the service. Born on February 17, 1937, in Haywood County, she lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to her family and her profession as a caretaker at Sugar Creek Senior Living Community, where she was an integral part of the lives of many.
Nancy was known for her warm and inviting personality. She embodied hard work, and her devotion to caring for others was evident in every aspect of her life. Known as a great cook, she brought joy to those around her with her culinary skills, often creating delicious meals that brought friends and family together. Her passions extended beyond the kitchen, as she found joy in activities such as fishing at the Tennessee River and dancing, which highlighted her vibrant spirit.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joanita Goodwin Barnes (Phillip), Janice Lynn Goodwin Hinsley, and Jean Ann Goodwin Jackson; one son, David Goodwin (Freda); four cherished grandchildren, Bradley Emerson, Caleb Goodwin, Christy Goodwin, and Gracie Ann Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Kiersten Emerson and Kalyn Emerson McRae (Tillman). Nancy also leaves behind her wonderful church family, many extended family members, and dear friends who enriched her life.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Louise Taylor Greenway; one brother, Phillip Greenway; and one sister, Louquita Climer.
Her life touched many, and her legacy of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. The family has requested any memorials be made to the Bethel Community Church, c/o Charles Greenway, 5932 Rudolph Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
