Nancy L. Haislip of Sykesville, MD passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025 at the age of 89.
Nancy was born in Schenectady, NY to Wilbur and Frances (Miller) Lockrow. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Hartwick College. Nancy was a teacher in Montgomery County MD and worked for the English Department at Montgomery College. Additionally, Nancy was an active member of her churches as an organist, pianist and choir director. Most recently, she was a member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church. Nancy enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, music, reading, puzzles, and was an avid sports fan.
Nancy was predeceased by her devoted husband Tom Haislip in 2015. Nancy is survived by her children Mary Newkirk (David Paden) of CA, David Haislip (Dale) of MD, Sue Paytas (Greg) of MD, Becky Dieter (Rob) of FL, Bob Haislip (Theresse) of NJ, grandchildren Amber Trotter, Evan Trotter, Gwyn Trotter, Dan Paytas, Kelly Paytas, Brett Dieter, Kurt Dieter, Thomas Haislip, Aubree Haislip, great-grandchildren Callum Trotter, Ayden Alvarez, and sister Linda Deese.
A service will be held at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church in Eldersburg, MD on Saturday, July 5th at 11:00 a.m. Contributions can be made to Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church or Heifer International.
