Nancy Carol Jordan Haseker, 72, of New Albany, Indiana entered into the joy of the Lord on January 8, 2023.
Nancy was born on April 19, 1950 to David and Amelia Jane (McCauley) Jordan in Louisville, KY. On December 28, 1973 she married Gary Ray Haseker. Together they raised their only daughter, Linnea. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Hanover College in 1972. She received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 1975. She was a member of Alpha Omega Pi sorority. Nancy enjoyed a teaching career, spanning 34 years. She began teaching 2nd grade at St. Mary's of the Knobs, which later combined with Lafayette Elementary, now Floyds Knobs Elementary School.
Nancy possessed a reverent passion and devotion to her faith. Her loving, generous spirit and thoughtful nature was evident among her family, friends, colleagues and students. She was member of Southeast Christian Church and the Louisville Area Emmaus Community. She was a member of the Kentuckiana Herb Society. She was a volunteer with Residents Encounter Christ (REC) program. She was an avid knitter and regular attendee at the Floyd County Library knitting group.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father David, mother Jane, sister Donna Brown and husband Gary. Nancy is survived by her daughter Linnea Kessans (Brad).
Services include her late husband, Gary and will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 20th at Larkspur Conservation in Westmoreland, Tennessee. Sumner Funeral & Cremation in Gallatin, Tennessee has been entrusted to her care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hosparus Health Louisville or the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library Foundation. The family would like to thank the Hosparus team, Altenheim Senior Health Care Community and Autumn Woods Health Campus for their service, dedication and care.
