Nancy Corrine Johnson (née Finley), born on May 27, 1936, in Breckinridge, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, with her daughter, Robin by her side, in Bluffton, South Carolina. She was 89 years old.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Floyd J. Johnson. As an Army wife, she stood steadfastly beside her husband during his military service, supporting him through assignments across the United States and Germany. Her strength and devotion were a cornerstone of their life together.
Born to Paul Finley and Lucille Smith Finley, Nancy was one of nine children and was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters. Her early years in Kentucky shaped her enduring appreciation for nature and faith—two guiding forces throughout her life.
Nancy’s first love was for God and her beliefs. Her spiritual devotion brought her peace and purpose, reflected in the way she embraced the world around her. Whether marveling at a brilliant sunset, watching an eagle soar overhead, or observing a deer pass quietly through her backyard, Nancy found joy and wonder in the natural world.
She also expressed her love through baking—her pies and cakes were cherished by family and friends alike. These homemade treats became symbols of comfort and celebration at countless gatherings over the years.
Nancy is survived by her devoted daughter Robin Bloom and Robin’s husband Tom. She also leaves behind step-grandchildren Pearce Bloom; Lisa Kaplan and her husband Jon; and Allison Stein. Her legacy continues through her step great grandchildren: Avi Stein, Adam Stein, Haley Kaplan, and Maddie Kaplan.
A woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and generous spirit, Nancy touched many lives with her kindness and grace. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on September 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church 10 Simmonsville Rd Bluffton, SC
