Nancy Jones went home to be with her heavenly Lord and Savior on October 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 9:00 am until service time at the Funeral Home. Rob Faulk will officiate.

She is survived by her three sons, Bain Dickens (Kim), Curtis Dickens (Lesley), and Stan Dickens (Sandy), grandchildren Corinne Dickens and Landon Dickens, sister-in-law Ann Ellis, stepdaughter Priscilla Russell (Charlie), and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Nancy was born to Noah Scarborough Ellis and Ruth Hester Ellis on January 19, 1936 in Mathiston, MS. She graduated from Mathiston High School, and attended Blue Mountain College, Mississippi State University, and the Ole Miss School of Banking.

She was a member of Thomastown Christian Church. She retired from Merchants and Farmers Bank after 28 years of service. After retirement, she spent most of her time in Orange Beach, AL where she cultivated many wonderful friendships, was active in the Gulf Shores Woman's Club, and attended Central Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gilbert Dickens and Karl Jones, brothers Harford and Stanley Ellis, sisters Mavis Yorke, Edna Hayes, Ruth Ann Oswalt, and sister-in-law Jennie Swearengen.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi or to a charity of your choice.
