Nancy Sue (Gwin) Keyser, 94, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 27. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Married to Jack for 55 years and being a military family, she, with three boys, traveled the world. In 1968 the family finally settled in
Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Throughout her life, Nancy volunteered untold hours, serving both her church and community. Her love and friendship were an example to all. She had a love for art and journaled by making sketches and pictures of everywhere she and Jack traveled. This love and gift of art was coupled with a strong desire to help and teach others. Her community involvement in various organizations was a testament to her open heart and love of life. Nancy was a 50+ year member of P.E.O. International, most recently of Chapter AD – Bowling Green. She was a faithful member of the Bowling Green Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and will be fondly remembered as a church volunteer, Sunday school teacher, puppeteer and artist.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Nancy graduated high school there and met her beloved husband, Jack, during her senior year, marrying soon after. Proof of being in a military family resulted in her children being born in multiple locations: Illinois, Germany and Arizona.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and husband LTC John M. Keyser (Jack). She is survived by her three sons, John (
St Petersburg, FL &
Scottsville, KY), David and wife Dianne (
Tampa, FL), Matthew and wife Chris (
Bowling Green, KY), a sister Jane (Gwin) Frederick (
Beaverton, OR), and brother, Curtis Gwin and wife Anne (France).
Grand children are Johnathan Keyser and wife Jennifer (Gulfport, FL), Dustin Keyser and wife Meagan (
Bowling Green, KY), Brittany Keyser (Largo, Florida), Rachel (Keyser) Ingham and husband Donald (Austin, TX), Adam Keyser and wife Lindsay (Whitehouse, TN), and Aaron Keyser (Houston, TX).
Great grandchildren: Mila, Isobel, Jack, Dallas, Daniel, and Claire. By marriage, Nancy could claim a handful of great, great grandchildren as well.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Cardinal Memory Care and Hospice for their love and care.
The Presbyterian Church (1003 State Street,
Bowling Green, KY 42101, (270) 843-4707) will host Nancy Keyser's celebration of life service, observed at 11 am on Saturday, January 17, 2026. A luncheon will follow. A private internment of her cremains will be at a later date next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery.
