Nancy Kronn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMurrough Funeral Chapel - Libertyville on Dec. 11, 2025.
Nancy Marie Kronn, 85, of Libertyville, Illinois, passed away on December 10, 2025, surrounded by family during her favorite season of the year. Strong, loving, helpful, and truly selfless, Nancy's gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Nancy was born on December 5, 1940, in Libertyville, a hometown she was always proud to share. She was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Celia Lindroth and the younger sister of Margie. Nancy cherished her parents deeply and lovingly cared for them in their later years.
In 1967, she married Richard Kronn, with whom she shared a beautiful partnership. Together they raised three children, Kristine, Rebecca, and Richard Jr., and built a home filled with love, support, and unwavering devotion. Nancy and Rich also worked side by side operating Kronn Signs, a business they nurtured together for many years. Later, Nancy dedicated 17 years to SEDOL, where she found joy in helping others.
Becoming a grandmother was one of Nancy's greatest blessings. She adored her five grandsons, Matthew, Kyle, Owen, Ryan, and Richie III, and poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.
Nancy exemplified strength and selflessness. When Rich was diagnosed with cancer, she cared for him with unwavering dedication, even while quietly facing her own battle with breast cancer. Choosing a less aggressive treatment so she could remain by his side. Rich passed away in 2010, and the devotion they shared remained a defining part of her life.
Nancy loved being surrounded by people. She enjoyed bridge, golf, bowling, yard work and chatting with neighbors. She had a warmth that made everyone feel welcome and a natural ability to connect with anyone she met. Helping others was not just something she did, it was who she was.
Nancy loved the Christmas season, and many cherished family traditions began with her. Her decorations, her music, her chocolate drop cookies, and the Christmas ornaments she gifted each year continue to fill her children's and grandchildren's homes with her spirit. Her legacy of warmth, generosity, and tradition will continue for generations.
Nancy is survived by her children Kristine (Leroy Nordlund), Rebecca (Scott Becker) and Richard Jr. (Tracy Kronn); her five grandchildren; and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Raymond and Celia, and her sister, Margie.
Her family will forever carry her in their hearts: "You may be gone from this life, Mom, but you remain with us always, our favorite favorite."
Visitation for Nancy will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday Dec 14th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Private Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church and interment at Ascension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org would be greatly appreciated.
