Nancy Gail Thornton Land, 86, of Seneca, widow of Tommy Joe Land passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at The Residences of Seneca formerly The Oaks.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Thornton and Margaret Lou Littlefield Thornton.
Survivors include her sons; Jeff (Melody) Land, of Seneca, and Jon (Susan) Land of Seneca,
Other survivors include her four grandchildren: Kristen (Brandon) Causey, Trent Land, Bailey Klaren, and Nash Klaren. She was predeceased by one brother, Billy (Margie) Thornton.
She was predeceased by her husband Tommy Joe of 63 years.
Nancy was a High School English Teacher with Oconee County Schools.
She was a graduate of Clemson University where she was a beautiful Majorette.
Nancy was a member of Seneca Presbyterian Church.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 12th, 2026 at Seneca Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 12:30 until 1:45.
Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Residences of Seneca, formerly The Oaks for their kindness, care, and love shown to Nancy.
Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice.
