Nancy LeClair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Molloy Funeral Home - West Hartford on Nov. 8, 2024.
Nancy Jean Flanders LeClair, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.
Nancy was the loving daughter of the late Thomas J. and M. Jane Flanders of West Hartford. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert E. LeClair, her brothers, Thomas J. and Ronald J. Flanders, and her two loving sisters, Gladys Fitzpatrick and Joyce Flanders. She leaves behind her three beautiful children, Thomas, Michael, and Teressa. Tom's two children, Chloe and Charlie. Mike's wife, Mary, and their two daughters, Alexandra and Madison. Tressa and her husband, James Nelson. She also left behind her darling nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from the great class of 1954 at Hall High School in West Hartford and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the Institute of Criminology. Throughout her life, she kept herself busy with a multitude of passions-whether tending to her beautiful gardens, working on one of her many puzzles, playing Mahjong with her dear friends, and most importantly, cherishing the love and joy of raising her children. In 2015, she fulfilled one of her dreams by publishing her beloved memoir, An Unexpected Journey, about her extraordinary life. Nancy was deeply involved in her church community, forging lasting friendships at the Sisters of the Cross and Passion, Holy Family Monastery, and Church of Saint Timothy. Her dedication to her faith led her to become a Eucharistic Minister at Hartford Hospital and Saint Mary's Home, a role she deeply cherished.
Nancy always said she had the most beautiful life and if she could impart the greatest bit of knowledge to anyone, she would tell them to know our dear Lord Jesus, to put all your trust in Him, to stay close to Him always. Your time on earth is so short compared to your time in eternity. And as our dear Lord told us, those who believe in Me that die, will never die but have everlasting life with Me.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors at UConn Medical Center for their compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, (11/15) at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Thursday, (11/14) from 4-7 p.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. In honor of Nancy's deep love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to: CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road Newington, CT 06111 or at: https://cthumane.org/?form=chswebsite
