Rosedale - Nancy Jean Jackson Loomis, 84, of
Rosedale, Indiana entered into the arms of Jesus on June 7, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 27, 1939 in
Chicago, Illinois to her late father and mother, Paul and Esther Jackson. She was married 64 yrs to the late Charles "Charlie" Loomis on December 22, 1956 in Bridgeton, Indiana who passed away; July 7, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and father and mother in law, Derald Loomis Sr, and Margaret Graham Loomis; five sisters Esther Greene, Evelyn Dilley, Shirley Nevins, Sharon Kent, and Peggy Jackson; one brother, Leonard Jackson, three sister-in-laws, Linda Jackson, Joyce and Terri Loomis; five brother-in-laws, Bud Greene, Bob Broton, Butch Kent, Derald Loomis Jr. and Sam Loomis Sr.
Survivors include 3 children, Debbie (Jack) Hopkins of
Rockville, Indiana, Wayne (Annette) Loomis and Tina (David) McLaughlin both of
Rosedale, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Stuart Hopkins, Kurt (Ashley) Hopkins, Sharon (Jeremy) Montgomery, Kellie (Chadd) Jenkins, Ryan (Rachel) Loomis, Kyle (Amanda) Hopkins, Karla (Jared) Bartlett, Ashley (Michael) Organ, Justin McLaughlin, Jordin McLaughlin and Jarrid (Ashleigh) McLaughlin; and 26 great-grandchildren, Kendall, Addilee, Addison, Corinne, Jonah, Jackson, Parker, Milynn, Isaiah, Claire, Carter, Tucker, Scarlett, Zane, McKinlee, Charlie, Warner, Adler, Maiya, Hannah, Wade, Gunner, Liam, Hudson, Cody, and Charolette; two sisters, Mary (Bob) Earl of Jenison, Michigan, Grace Broton of
Indianapolis, Indiana; and one brother, Joe Jackson of Evansville, Indiana; sister-in-laws, El-Frieda Jackson-Moran of
Tuscola, Illinois, Daisy Margaret (Tom) Palmer of Texas; and brother-in-law, David Dilley (Edwina) of Cypress, Texas; several nieces and nephews including J.R. Kent.
She was an active member of the Bridgeton Baptist Church as she loved her church family very much. She worked as the cafeteria cook at the Bridgeton School during the 1960's where she loved providing homemade breads, desserts, and meals. She continued working at Columbia Records until retirement in the 2000's; then she took joy in cleaning at the church and cooking for the youth programs. She loved her family and was especially grateful for all their help through the 9 years of dialysis as she battled an auto-immune disease called Vasculitis. She loved being with her family and had an unique way to make each one feel especially loved and special to her.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18th at Bridgeton Baptist Church, Bridgeton, Indiana, with Pastor Jack E. Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton, Indiana. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Monday June 17th at Bridgeton Baptist Church.
