Nancy Jane Maier, of Oviedo, FL, and formerly of Marcellus, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2022. Nancy was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Peter and Mildred (Phillips) Norg. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1952, and taught adult education classes and high school home economics in Bensenville, Illinois. Nancy was a member of Paw Paw Trinity Lutheran Church, Kids At Heart Seniors, AARP, Scottish Caledonians of Kalamazoo, American Legion Auxiliary of McGowan - Johnson Post #68 in Paw Paw, and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Her favorite past times were sewing, crafts, and baking cookies for friends and her treasured family members. On December 30, 1977, in Bensenville, Illinois, Nancy was united in marriage to George Maier who preceded her in death in 2018.
Surviving are two sisters, Sally Nelson and Judy (Gary) Covert, and her special and loved children, sons Peter (Diane) Mars and Robert (Suzy) Mars, daughters Jeri Diorio and Wendy (Warren) Silenzi. Also surviving are eight treasured grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, May 17, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home 502, West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
