Nancy Marks Obituary

Nancy A. Marks, 79

1943 - 2023

Lynn, MA - Family was everything to Nancy (Peach) Marks, age 79 of Lynn, MA and she was surrounded by hers when she went peacefully to God on March 8th, after a series of illnesses.

Born on December 30th 1943 in Marblehead, Nancy spent most of her childhood in Salem, but moved to Lynn in time to start her freshman year at Lynn English High School. It was a move that proved lifechanging as the stunningly beautiful young woman soon caught the eye of a tall and handsome young student/athlete named Terry Marks. A lifelong love affair soon commenced and the couple married on October 1, 1960.

Before long Nancy and Terry started a family and Cindy, Mike and Chris became the center of Nancy's universe. She spent the rest of her life in Lynn and raised her family there, mostly in Pine Hill. No event was too small. If Nancy wasn't throwing a birthday party, a pool party or attending a ballgame, she was visiting her beloved mother Alice and taking her to Salem Willows for a day of fun in the sun.

As her children grew and married and their families grew, her heart grew as well. Every year at Christmas she doted on her children, which in her mind also included her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, her 11 grandchildren and ultimately her 6 great-grandchildren. For over 3 decades Nancy made family vacations the highlight of the year with up to 30 people longing for the next "week at the lake".

Nancy was the type of person who would rather be fondly remembered than sadly missed, but she will have to settle for both.

She leaves her husband of 62 years, Terrence Marks of Lynn, her daughter Cynthia Donovan and her husband Kevin of Lynn, her son Michael Marks and his wife Joanne (Hollow) of Lynn, her daughter Christine Geaney and her husband Richard of Lynn. She also leaves 11 grandchildren: Terrence 2nd, Ashley, Michael Jr, Allison, Katelyn, Amy, Emily, Megan, Jack, Christopher and Nicholas, and 6 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Teagan, Henry, Isla, Charlie and Brayden. She also leaves her sister Betty Devlin and her husband Robert of Peabody, brothers and sisters in law John and Ellie Marks of Amesbury and Michael and Patricia Marks of Lynn. She is predeceased by her mother Alice Perritano and her husband Nickola, her father Robert Peach and her brother Robert Peach.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers. Nancy's family thanks them from the bottom their hearts for their support over her final days.

To the Marks family. We are so sorry for your loss. We knew NANCY many years ago when we rented the 3rd floor apt they owned on 109-111 Bellevue Road. We remember NANCY as such a beautiful lady on the inside and out. She would leave little gifts at the bottom of our stairs even after she moved 2 houses away for our Daughter Jessica on special occasions. She was always so kind and thoughtful. We moved away 25 yrs ago, but would never forget such a beautiful person.

Dear Uncle Terry, Michael and Joanne, Cindy and Kevin, Chrissy, and Rick,

I am so sad to hear of Aunt Nancy's passing. She was and is a beautiful woman, who cared for her family and loved ones above herself. I know Aunt Nancy is at peace now but it doesn't make it any easier. I will cherish the memories of the last Christmas that I was with her and your families. I'm wishing hugs to all of you. Love you all so much!

Love,

Sarah Marks

Terry,Michael and entire Marks family:

My family offers our deepest condolences on the lost of Nancy. From the old days of delivering the item to little league to neighbors we have fond memories of Nancy. We are out of town and cannot be there for services. Nancy was one of the nicest most thoughtful person you would know. My daughters all were saddened by the news and remember her as the nice lady across the street who always was friendly and thoughtful. I know how she cherished her beautiful family and you all have great memories of her. We send our thoughts and prayers.
