Nancy Jo Orr (Parke), 74, of Covington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at Franciscan Hospital, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born on December 5, 1950, to Richard and Margaret “Peggy” (Daniel) Parke, Nancy was a proud graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1968. She married Randall Orr on August 10, 1974, in Denver, Colorado. They shared 48 wonderful years together before Randall’s passing in 2022. Together, they raised two children, Christy Heyen (Christopher Heyen) and Randall Orr (Becky Hughes Orr), and were blessed with many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Nancy worked for many years as a bank teller and operated The Dairy House restaurant in Covington alongside her husband Randall.

Nancy had a deep love for music and a beautiful gift for singing. She sang in the church choir for many years and performed at the Covington Arts Festival, the Apple Festival, and other local events, often alongside her dear friend Marlea Crain. She also enjoyed making music with her brothers, and one of her favorite songs to perform was “My Indiana Home.” Singing brought her immense joy, and she loved using her musical talent to uplift and connect with others. Nancy was known for her warm, outgoing nature and her wonderful sense of humor, which put everyone around her at ease.

Nancy was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Covington, Indiana. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and loved to discuss and share her faith. Her faith was unwavering, especially through difficult times and even in her last days she was at peace knowing that she would soon be in heaven with Jesus.

Nancy is survived by her children, Christy Heyen and Randall Orr; her brothers, Richard Parke, Steve Parke, and Timothy Parke; and her cherished grandchildren, Bailey Rennick, Austin Swaney, Abigail Billingsley, Allie Swaney, Joshua Davis, Jordan Powell, and Brynlee Heyen.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randall Orr; her grandson, Kaden Orr; her parents, Richard and Peggy Parke; and her brother, Thomas Parke.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Covington, Indiana, with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
