Nancy R. Parker, age 74, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away on November 4, 2022. She was a long time resident of Powder Springs, GA. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Inurnment will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
The daughter of Richard and Mary Rice, Nancy was born on June 18, 1948 in Elbert County, Georgia. She is survived by her siblings Faye McCall, Wayne Rice, and Roy Rice.
Nancy will be missed by her husband of 52 years Gary Parker; daughters Nina Parker and Paula Lilly; and grandsons Caleb Lilly, Levi Lilly and Ian Lilly.
She graduated from Elbert County High School where she was a standout basketball player. She attended Forrest Business School in Anderson, SC. During her professional career, she held administrative positions at Tennessee Temple Schools and Cobb County Schools totaling 26 years in Education.
For over 20 years, Nancy was an active member of Lost Mountain Baptist Church, supporting her husband while he served as a deacon, teaching Sunday school, and ministering to elderly congregants through faithful and consistent phone calls and visitation.
In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make a contribution to Lost Mountain Baptist Church in her name.
