Age 86, of East Tawas, Michigan, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Tawas City, Michigan. Nancy was born to the late Charles and Gaynell (Kerns) Steiner on April 13, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan. She spent her childhood and formative years in Saginaw before she lived in Caro, Michigan for a period of time. In the early 2000's, Nancy relocated to East Tawas, Michigan where she spent the remainder of her life. Nancy married the love of her life, Clement Popielarz, on January 7, 1961, and the two shared several tremendous years together raising a family and making endless memories. She was a homemaker who spent her days looking after the kids and the house, a job she took great pride in. Some of Nancy's favorite hobbies included crocheting and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She was a strong, feisty, and loving woman who will be missed dearly by many.
Nancy is survived by her children, Debrah Doud, Stephen (Peggy) Popielarz, and Terry (Julee) Popielarz; sister, Gail Faust; grandchildren, Lori Schulz, Jessica (Matt Zawila) Trinklein, Brandon (Tori) Doud, Robert Popielarz, Anthony (Ashley) Popielarz, Dakota Popielarz, Casey (Audi) Popielarz, Mallory (Henry) Gould, and Scott (Staci) Popielarz; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Charles and Gaynell, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Clement Popielarz; son, Edward Popielarz; son-in-law, Ricky Doud; and her brother, Charles Steiner.
Visitation for Nancy will be held at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, Michigan, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. There will be a funeral service held at the funeral home on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The family will welcome the public for a time of visitation before the service on Friday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest with her husband Clement at East Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan. You may leave an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
