Nancy Lee Preble

Nancy Lee Preble, 69, of Wallingford, passed away July 19, 2025 at Hartford Hospital after a short illness.
Nancy was born in Meriden, CT on January 27, 1956, a daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Roberts) Preble.
Nancy is survived by her sisters, Joyce Pelton (Robert) of SC, Gail Robitaille (Eugene) of Meriden and Ruth Wankowicz (Karl) of TX; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Ryan Pelton (Melissa), Marc Pelton (Danielle), Brandi Robitaille, Tommy Robitaille, Paige Wankowicz and Emily Wankowicz. Her great nieces and nephews Dylan Pelton, Caitlin Terry (Robert), Brianna Allbright, Monica and Jordan Robitaille. Together they shared a lifetime of memories and laughter.
Her heart was fullest when surrounded by family and friends. She hosted many holidays, made endless trips to McDonald's for iced coffee, cared for her late mother, scrolled on Facebook, and checked in with her nieces and nephews often. She especially cherished beach trips to Rhode Island with her best friend and soul sister Kim Ryan - these times brought her deep joy and peace. She was also a cherished and honorary member of the Ryan, Findley, and Costa families, who embraced her as one of their own.
A dedicated bus driver for many years and later an aide, Nancy cared deeply for the children on her routes, building special relationships with many of them, as well as their families.

Nancy's family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 9am until 11 am. Her funeral service will be held at 11am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Center Street Cemetery in Wallingford.
