Nancy Lou (Siefert) Raplee, 82, of Lafayette passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born May 27, 1942, in Du Quoin, Il to the late George Clifton and Oradell (Ehlschide) Siefert. She was a proud graduate of Williamsport High School. On October 21, 1961, she married Cecil James Raplee Jr. in Williamsport. Cecil preceded her in death on January 5, 2019. Nancy loved her job as a secretary for the Purdue Mechanical Engineering Department.
Nancy enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved all things Purdue. She collected dolls and loved to travel. Her favorite place to visit was Alaska. She adored her friends and made every opportunity to meet new people. She loved animals and cherished her two Siamese cats.
Nancy is survived by her 2 sons, Michael (Lynetta) Raplee of Lafayette and Andrew (Kari) Raplee of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren, Sarah (Allan) Mason of Indianapolis, Melanie Raplee of Indianapolis, Tyler Raplee and Timothy Raplee, both of Lafayette; a brother, Thomas (Janet) Siefert of Coatesville; 2 sisters-in-law, Sue Sanders of Houston, TX and Marcia Siefert of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, George and Oradell Siefert, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy George, Brenda Sue, and James Clifton.
Memorial contributions in Nancy's name may be given to Purdue University Center for Cancer Research, 201 S University St, West Lafayette, IN 47906 or at www.purdue.edu/cancer-research/ or to the Almost Home Humane Society, 1705 2nd Street, Lafayette, IN 47905 or at www.almosthomehumane.org.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, Monday, July 1, 2024, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
Interment will follow at Meadow View Cemetery, 3733 Poland Hill Rd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
