Passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the age of 73. Born June 26, 1952 to Ira and Betty (Wood) Thompson in Lansing, Michigan. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Nancy was a beacon of light in the lives of those she held dear. Her commitment to caring for others was not only a passion, but also her life's work. Nancy spent her professional life as a Certified Nursing Assistant at The Pines Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lansing, dedicating her time and energy to those in need. She also did some side work providing in-home care to Lansing area residence. Nancy also took care of her family, including before and after school care for her grandsons for many years. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed going to casinos and doing word searches, finding joy in the challenge and thrill of both. In every aspect of her life, from her work to her hobbies, Nancy lived a zestful life and she leaves behind a legacy of hard work, reliability, and love.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Michael M. Rice; son, Nickk (Nicole) Rice; grandsons, Tyler Rice and Andrew Rice as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Kris, Kerry, Joyce, and Cathy; brother, Richard "Butch", as well as her parents.
