Nancy Jean Skeddle, 85, of Connellsville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 10, 1940, the daughter of the late Lynetta and Lester Simmons.
Nancy was happily married for 45 years to Gerald Skeddle. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, tending to her plants and flowers, and animals.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Thomas Corbly and son-in-law Bill Redd.
She is survived by her children, Beverly (David) Jochynek, Bobbie Redd, and Shirley Jo Fox; grandchildren, Daralynn Jochynek Gordon, David Michael Jochynek (Sabrina), and Shaylynn Straight (Tim); great grandchildren Josie Catherine, Jason David, Dean McCoy, Mack Ledoux, Aiden Thomas, Sadie Eleanor, Dexter Owen, and Lilly Rose; and sisters Debra Sherral and Donna Livengood.
Nancy also leaves behind her step-grandchildren Stephanie Bolin (Brad) and Tony Redd (Heather) and step-great-grandchildren Claire Redd, Davis Redd, Sierra Pierce, and Lucas Pierce.
Nancy's gentle spirit, love for life, and devotion to her family will be forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com. A funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Claysville Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses at WVU Hospice that took such good care of Nancy during her time on hospice.
