Nancy Minette Snyder, age 52 of Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025. Nancy was a devoted mother to her two children, Paul (age 21) and Maggie (age 20), and to Mack, their family labrador retriever.
The daughter of Darrell and Peggy Snyder, Nancy was born on May 23, 1973 in Gainesville, Georgia. She graduated from Stephens County High School in 1991 and continued her education at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996. Nancy's love for the medical field and helping others led her to Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, where she earned her degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2000.
Nancy started her career at the Hanger Clinic in Gainesville, Georgia in 1996 and later relocated to St. Simons, Georgia where she managed the Hanger Clinic location in Brunswick. She specialized in pediatrics including comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic solutions for individuals with conditions such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy, cranial asymmetry, craniosynostosis, congenital talipes equinovarus, spastic hemiplegia, genetic mutations, chromosomal deficiencies, and general hypotonia and hypertonia. As a National Pediatric Specialist in orthotics and prosthetics, Nancy collaborated closely with pediatric specialists and therapy teams from Savannah, Georgia, through Brunswick, Georgia, and down to Jacksonville, Florida. Nancy also found great joy acting as a mentor for Hanger Clinic, where she empowered future clinicians to achieve their full potential.
Some of Nancy's greatest accomplishments were serving her community, helping her patients through their most challenging times, and making everyone around her feel loved and valued. But, by far, her greatest joy in life was her role as a mother. Nancy loved spending time with her children, Paul and Maggie, as they split their time between the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, and Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. She was an avid lover of photography, abstract art, and loved exploring water destinations with the family Labrador, Mack.
She is survived by her two children, Paul Kaselak and Maggie Kaselak, her parents Darrell and Peggy Snyder of Toccoa, Georgia, her brothers Darrell Snyder, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Cumming, Georgia, Rick Snyder of Toccoa, Georgia, nephews Dustin Snyder, Dalton Snyder, Matthew Snyder and niece Charlee Snyder; aunt, Dr. Georgia Newman Powell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Toccoa Presbyterian Church. There will be a gathering at Ping's Grill at Lake Toccoa following the ceremony for all friends and family who would like to join together for fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Amputee Coalition (support.amputee-coalition.org) and Hanger Foundation (hangerfoundation.org).
Embracing joy in daily lives and bringing laughter to your surroundings is another way to honor Nancy's memory.
