Nancy Lucille (Adams) Sparrow was born November 18, 1936, and passed away July 16, 2025, at age 88, after having struggled through dementia for five years. She was the fifth of seven children born to the late David and Fannie (Hammond) Adams.
Nancy graduated from Centerburg High School in May of 1954, and married Ray Jacob on October 9th of the same year. While she was married to Ray, she raised her four children and worked on the family farm. Nancy also worked at Mt. Carmel East Hospital as the operator of the phone (PBX) system there. She later married the love of her life, (Pearl) Sam Sparrow and they resided in Naples, Florida. After moving to Florida in 1984, she and Sam managed condominiums. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Naples where she met and made many friends. She loved taking care of her lawn and flowers. Nancy really enjoyed her life in Florida with Sam. They played golf and spent time on the ocean. Nancy remained a loyal Buckeye fan even during her years in Florida.
She is survived by her four children, Laurie (Tony) Menzie, Jim Jacob, John (Patti) Jacob, and Todd (Connie) Jacob, and several nieces and nephews. Nancy had twelve grandchildren, Jake (Sara) Menzie, Abby (Menzie) Budny, Emmy (Menzie) Tedrick, Johnny Jacob, Drew Jacob, ReAnnan (Jacob) Griffith, Austin Jacob, Joe Jacob, Jesse Jacob, Levi (Taylor) Jacob, Isaia Jacob, and Jayden Jacob. She also had fourteen great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, both husbands, and two grandchildren, Abby and Johnny.
Nancy always wanted a big party celebrating her life, so one will be held on September 6, 2025, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM at the Sportsman Club, 7357 Sportsman Club Road NW, Johnstown, Ohio 43031. Anyone who knew Nancy knew she loved people, and having a good time, so this will be a celebration, without sadness or mourning, even though she is missed by all of us.
