Nancy Leigh Spurling, age 59 of Rockwood, passed away on Thursday, December 25th, 2025, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. She was born on July 5th, 1966. Nancy worked for many years as a pharmacy tech at various places, with the majority of her time spent at the Wal-Mart pharmacy. Nancy absolutely loved getting to see and work with her customers and friends. Her smile was hard to miss every time you walked in. She enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, going to the lake and being at the beach. She was also an avid Vols fan. If UT was playing any sport, she was around to watch them. She also loved her pets dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents: Milburn and Kay Proffitt; mother and father-in-law: Beulah and Bill Spurling. She is survived by:
Husband: Tim Spurling
Son: Joshua Spurling
Brother: Paul Edd Proffitt
Nieces & Nephews: Grayson David Proffitt, Josie Marlo Proffitt, and Tanner Nobel Proffitt
Aunt: Sylvia Sue Baird
Special Cousins: Beth Grasham, Sonya Hupko, Susan Wells, and Keith Gibson
along with a host of other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm ET. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm ET. Private family interment will be held at a later date in the Oak Grove cemetery in Rockwood, TN. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Nancy Leigh Spurling.
