Nancy J. Steimel

Nancy J. Steimel, 73, of Parsons, passed away the morning of Monday, May 5, 2025, at ElmHaven East in Parsons.
Nancy Jean Steimel was born on November 21, 1951, to Robert R. and Barbara J. (Marks) Steimel in Parsons. She grew up and attended school in St. Paul, graduating from St. Paul High School in 1970.
For many years, Nancy worked on the manufacturing line. She worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and at Grandview Products.
A lifelong Catholic, she attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons.
She was a resident at Woodridge Estates for the last 10 years, where she enjoyed making friends and participating in the many activities there including Bingo and playing the bells.
Survivors include:
Two sisters – Janice Rhodes of Parsons, Kansas
Cindy Lero (Rusty) of Erie, Kansas
One nephew – Eric Strait (Katie) of Parsons, Kansas
Two nieces – Bethany Kendrick (Peter) of Pittsburg, Kansas
Morgan Strait of Joplin, Missouri
Two great nieces – Jenna Long (Jhalani) and Josie Kendrick
One great nephew – Owen Strait
One great-great-nephew – Crew Long
Many special cousins
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert R. Steimel; her mother and step-father, Barbara and Tom Hamilton; and her brother-in-law, Ron Rhodes.
The rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, at the funeral home. There will be a private family internment at Hope Cemetery in St. Paul.
