Nancy Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home Inc. on Jan. 10, 2025.
Nancy Carolyn Thompson, age 84, passed away on January 6, 2025 after a brief illness. She was born in East Palestine Ohio on May 3, 1940 to the late Lester Ward and Louise (Bell) Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Curtis A. Thompson, her sister Kathy Jo Lower, and her brother Charles Ward. She lived a fulfilling life spending quality time with her family. Nancy loved animals, coffee and game shows. She enjoyed reading, bowling and golfing. Nancy also crocheted and made a blanket for each great grandchild. She spent plenty of time watching her grandchildren play sports running the sidelines cheering them on.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Amy (Todd) Hoover; son Chris Thompson; siblings Sandy (Thomas) Moses; Joe (Mary) Ward; Kim (Richard) Anderson; grandsons Benjamin (Ashley) Hoover and Chris (Brittany) Thompson; granddaughters Amanda (Evan) Hasemeyer and Stormi (Clark) Cornelius; many nieces and nephews and her faithful companions Penelope (boxer); Butter (cat); and Chris's farm animals (alpacas, donkey and horse).
Her greatest joy were her great grandchildren: Bailey and Jordyn Hoover; Ellie and James Malek; Avery and Aleyna Thompson and little Todd Hasemeyer (as she affectionately referred to him). The children made her smile light up a room.
Nancy had a wonderful life growing up on the Ward farm in Unity, OH with five siblings. Even though they all went their separate ways, the siblings remained very close and spoke often. The many farm memories will be forever cherished.
There will be a private celebration of life to honor Nancy later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's honor to an animal shelter of your choice.
