Nancy Vickery Obituary

To know Nancy was to feel at home. With a heart as vast as the sky, she was "Mommy" not just to her own, but to everyone who needed a mother's kindness. Her arms were always open, her wisdom freely given, and her presence brought calm to all who had the blessing of standing in it. She was a super wife and life partner, creating a peaceful and nurturing home alongside her beloved husband of 50 years, Harvey Benjamin Vickery.
Nancy found her greatest joy in her family. She was a proud and loving mother to Alicia Ragene Slater and Shelby Renee Pringle, and though she endured the sorrow of losing two children, Sarah Marie Woodard and William James Daniels, her love for them never wavered. She poured her heart into and was deeply proud of the legacy that grew through eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and even one great-great-grandchild. Her spirit lives on in each of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sara Rutland, as well as one sister and six brothers. Despite those losses, Nancy's enduring faith, strength, and unconditional love held her family together and uplifted all who knew her.
Nancy's legacy is one of selfless love, unwavering faith, and a home filled with warmth, comfort, and grace. She will be missed beyond measure, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts and lives of those she nurtured.
