Nancy Elvove West, age 85, died Tuesday, July 31, 2024 at her daughter's home in Paris, Kentucky. She was born in Paris on February 1, 1939, to the late Louis Elvove and Nannie Weaver Elvove.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Holly) West and Michele West; two grandchildren, Ashley Jordan West and Owen Michael West; and two great-grandchildren, Skylar and River Carter. She is also survived by six siblings, Marjorie Lager, Marilyn (William G.) Crouch, Joseph (Rosemarie) Elvove, Louis Jacob (Anne Dillon) Elvove, Rebecca Smith, and Regina Elvove, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oties "Sonny" West, and three siblings, Rose Marie Thomas, Charles Edward Kelly, and Elizabeth Ellen Ballard.
Nancy graduated from Paris High School in 1957 and went on to train and work as an X-ray technician. She worked in her profession for many years before becoming a childcare giver for many families in Bourbon County and at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Nancy leaves a legacy in the many children (now adults) she cared for and loved like her own over the years.
Nancy was a member of Bedford Acres Christian Church for many years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures, such as dancing, listening to music, reading, playing Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with family.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday August 7, 2024, at the Paris Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society or to Melanoma Research Alliance.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. The online guestbook is at www.Lusk-McFarland.com and a 24-hour funeral information line can be reached by calling 859-987-4387.

August 8, 2024

I was her neighbor for a long time. She babysitted me when I was a child.
Mike and Michelle was her children and we played with them. I remember in the winter we would all get together and sleigh ride down the hill. This was when Kentucky would have the big winters and before the state keep the road real clean. She was a very sweet lady who was loved by many people. I know I will miss her so much. As an adult I would check on her from time to time. I love her and miss her so much.
