Nancy Westover, born Nancy Rose Frycek, passed away February 7th, 2024 at the age of 72 due to complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Nancy was born on March 19, 1951 to Fred Frycek and Theo Speed in Geneva, Nebraska. Her childhood years were spent in Geneva until the age of 9 when she moved with family to Holbrook, Arizona. They joined other extended family there with work opportunities managing motels along Route 66 in Holbrook.
Nancy met the love of her life, Conley, while they were both attending Holbrook High School. Nancy's family moved for a brief time to Denton, Texas before returning to Arizona and residing in Mesa her senior year. After graduating from Westwood High School in 1969, Nancy went on to study and work in cosmetology in Mesa.
Nancy married William Conley Westover July 9, 1971 in Joseph City, Arizona. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado for Conley to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University. Nancy worked as a beautician to support them while Conley was involved in his studies. They returned to Arizona in 1975, spending a short time working in Payson and then moving to Flagstaff where they established a new practice, Aspen Veterinary Clinic.
Nancy had many gifts and talents. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, family history, making wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. Her home in Flagstaff held a special place in her heart. She loved planting flowers and beautifying her home and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She worked for nearly 40 years doing office management for the veterinary clinic until her husband's passing in 2015.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband William Conley Westover, her parents Fred and Arlene Frycek, birth mother Theo Speed, as well as several beloved in-laws and extended family members.
