Nancy Lee Whitaker

Nancy Whitaker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed

away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was 78 years old.

Born on September 14, 1947, in California, Nancy was the cherished daughter of Val

Gordon and Norma Montgomery. She spent her formative years in California before

embarking on a lifelong journey filled with love, family, and dedication to her work and

passions.

For over 30 years, Nancy excelled as a Realtor, helping countless families find their

dream homes. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her unwavering

commitment to her family and community.

Nancy's vibrant spirit shone brightly in all she did. She had a profound love for dancing,

often seen gliding across the floor with grace and joy. The beach was her sanctuary,

where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. Her

greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,

who brought immense happiness to her life. Nancy's loyal canine companion was

never far from her side, providing her with steadfast companionship throughout the

years.

A woman of faith, Nancy was an active member of Providence Presbyterian Church,

where she found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Val Gordon and Norma

Montgomery. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her devoted husband,

Larry Whitaker; her daughters, Annette Molleen (Chris) and Kimberlee Whitaker; her

son, Doug Whitaker (Holly Durst-Whitaker); and her adoring grandchildren, Joey

Pennypacker (Sierra), Eric Pennypacker (Carrigan), Cale Molleen, and Cecelia

Whitaker. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren, Ledger

Pennypacker and Cayce Pennypacker, who brought boundless joy to her later years.

She is also survived by many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Nancy will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts

of her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.

The Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2025 at Altmeyer

Funeral Home (Chesapeake Chapel).
