Nancy B. Whynall died peacefully at Woodlawn Care Center on January 9, 2025, at the age of 95.
Nancy's health had been declining for some time but she retained her graciousness and sense of humor til the end. She was born in Philadelphia in 1929, graduated from Duke University, and married Richard G. Whynall in 1952. They lived in New Jersey for several years where their three children were born. In 1962 the family moved to New Boston, NH, where Nancy and Dick both became very involved in town activities. Nancy was a talented actress, singer, and seamstress, and a very caring and creative mother. Her great love was choir singing, and she was a member of various choirs until the age of 89. Nancy and Dick moved to Newport, NH, for their retirement years and Nancy was an active member of South Church for many, many years, as well as a member of the Soonipi Quilters and the Friends of the Richards Library.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and by her husband Richard. She is survived by her three children: Cary Jardine; Jeff Whynall (Cathy); and Chris Wiest (Eric); six grandchildren: Adam and Matthew Jardine; Hannah Wiest Curtiss and Heidi Wiest; and Caitlin Roth and Scott Whynall; and 7 great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place at a later date in the spring.
