Nanette Ann Hill Munson passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 62 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. A private family celebration of life for Nanette will take place at a later date.
Nanette Ann Hill was born June 28, 1961, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of Donald and Karen (Bacon) Hill. Nanette grew up in Fort Dodge where she attended Fort Dodge High School and completed her GED in 1979. That same year, she married Bruce Ewing Sr. in Fort Dodge. To this union two children were born, Bruce Jr. and Angela. They later divorced. Nanette worked multiple jobs throughout her life, including at Fonda and Storm Lake Care Centers as a CDM and as manager at Casey's. In 2009, she moved to Indiana. On December 20, 2013, she was united in marriage to Brett Munson. The couple lived in Indiana, where Nanette eventually retired from the Tate and Lyle Plant in Lafayette. In 2023, due to her health, she returned to Iowa.
Nanette enjoyed fishing, crocheting, quilting, photography, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, M. Brett Munson; son, Bruce Ewing, Jr.; daughter, Angela (Wade) Tucker; stepkids Burke(Heidi) Munson, Yvette (Chris) Gayler; Anna Courter; her mother, Karen N. Hill; sister, Nadine (Tim) Roth; brother, Don (Denise) Hill; her grandchildren, Alexis, Levi, Lorna, Wyatt, Austin, Tristan, Kierstan, and Makenzie (Torin); Tori, Tyler, Brandte, Dawson, Shawn, Heather, Danica, great-grandson, Bennett who she adored, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald, and nephew, Riley. Nanette will be remembered as the girl with mischievous bright blue eyes who never forgot a friend, loved to laugh, worked hard, and was always there to lend a helping hand.
She will be dearly missed.
