It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Narendrabhai Chimanlal Shah, who departed from this world on December 4, 2025, in
Austin, Texas. Born on the 27th of April, he was a native of the village of Undhela,Gujarat, India and eventually called Houston,Texas his home. Narendra's journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, his profession, and his community.
His life was a testament to his open heart, kind and happy nature, and love of socializing. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew him. After earning his Masters in Geology, Narendra dedicated his career to being a geophysicist in the oil industry. He not only was focused on his successful career but was a dedicated leader in the Gujarat Samaj Community and Jain Society of Houston for many years.
Narendra was passionate about keeping up with current events in both of his countries as well as keeping close contact with all those he loved whether in person or over the phone. Despite his many accomplishments, Narendra remained grounded, often finding joy in life's simple pleasures such as helping others, eating spicy food, indian sweets and gardening.
The family was the cornerstone of Narendra's life. He is survived by his wife, Surekha Shah, his brothers, Dilip and Ashok Shah, his sisters, Usha and Daksha Shah, his son, Gaurang Shah, his daughter-in-law Bijal Shah, his daughter, Brijesha Shah Makwana, his son-in-law, Amit Makwana and his cherished grandchildren Ariya,Sarina and Aayan. Each one of them carries a spark of Narendra's spirit, wisdom, and kindness.
Narendrabhai Chimanlal Shah's legacy is not just in the career he built but in the values he instilled and the lives he touched. He was a man who embodied the essence of a life well-lived and well-loved. As we bid farewell to Narendra, we do so with the belief that his soul has found its way to eternal peace and that his teachings and memories will continue to guide us.
In honoring Narendra's journey, we reflect upon our Jain principles that the soul is eternal and never dies. As such, while we mourn his physical absence, we celebrate the everlasting impact he has made on us all. Narendra's life was a beacon of inspiration to us all.
May his soul, in its journey towards Moksha, find the same peace and fulfillment that he brought to those around him. Om Shanti.
