Natalie M. De Rocco

Natalie Mary De Rocco, age 94, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away on November 12, 2018 in the loving presence of her family. She was born on February 21, 1924 daughter to Elvira and Antonio Mancini. She was a life long resident of Amsterdam, graduating from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1941. All who knew Natalie were touched by her warmth and abiding kindness. She lived an exemplary life, driven by her passion for family, her intellectual curiosity, pursuit of learning, love of travel and her deep devotion to her faith and church. Many may smile remembering her affinity for all music but especially the original "cowboy" songs of the 40's and 50's. She truly was a woman for all seasons! Natalie was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and belonged to the Catholic Daughters Society. A member of the Arbor Vitae (AV) Club and Secret Pals, Natalie had lifelong friendships. She was the last surviving member of this circle of friends. Natalie worked for General Electric in Schenectady where she met her future husband, Roy. They were married in 1950 and were wed for 49 years until Roy's passing in 1999. Predeceased by her husband; her daughter, Nancy Lee Wells and her brother, Lawrence (Norma) Mancini, Natalie is survived by her children, Sam (Lucy) De Rocco (Niskayuna, NY), Marilyn Littlejohn (Mendon, NY) and son-in-law, Jeffrey Wells (Amsterdam, NY). She is also survived by the cherished joys of her life: great-granddaughter, Vivienne Claire Littlejohn; grandchildren, David, Christian (Elaine) and Emily Littlejohn; Andrea (Trey) Hundley, Anthony, Michael and Daniel De Rocco; and Andre Wells. Also surviving are sisters, Josephine Altieri and Esther Morrone; brother, Albert (Mary Jane) Mancini and many dear nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, Amsterdam, NY on Friday, November 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 17th, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Amsterdam, NY. Reverend Pascal Iannotti will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belanger School of Nursing c/o Ellis Hospital Foundation, Schenectady NY, where daughter Nancy Lee Wells was a nurse instructor.FUNERAL HOME
