Natalie M. MacWright

Natalie M. (Lane) MacWright, 87, of Chatham, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born in Newark, NJ, to Edward and Anita (Coltorti) Lane, she resided in East Hanover for over 20 years before moving to Chatham nearly 40 years ago.
Natalie is a graduate of The College of William and Mary where she was a twirler and also served as president of her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. While living in East Hanover and raising her children, Natalie served as a past president of both the East Hanover PTA and Suburbanites. She was also member of the East Hanover Republican Club. Natalie was an active member at First Presbyterian Church of East Hanover for over 60 years. Natalie taught English at Hanover Park High School for over 20 years before retiring in 1998. In addition to teaching Language Arts, she taught one of the most popular electives at the school, Art of Writing. She was honored with being named "HP Teacher of the Year" through the Governor's Teacher Recognition Program in 1989. In addition, she was the assistant advisor for the Hanover Park Debate and Forensics Club and served as Literary Editor for yearbook for a time. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends.
Natalie is survived by her two daughters; Vicki Stauffer Sparnon and her husband Jim of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and Wendy Moeltner and her husband Jim of Pompton Lakes, and by four grandchildren; Kyle, Zachary, Brian, and Eric. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Rachel Lane Moeltner.
Visiting hours are Saturday, October 1, from 10AM-1PM at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ 07936. There will be a funeral service Saturday at 1PM.
