Natasha Renee Bell Harris Maxey entered this world on July 16, 1978 into the arms of her loving mother, Janet Bell Harris. After 23 hours of labor, this bundle of joy was here at last.
Natasha was a beautiful, smart, and vibrant child that wasn't afraid of anything or anyone.
Natasha was a protector of her cousin Cherita in pre-school. Her Uncle William gave her the nickname "Thundarr" because she loved the cartoon "Thundarr the Barbarian." Natasha would clinch her fist and roar. She was a very quiet child to strangers, but there was a hidden roar inside of her, and she knew how to release it when needed.
Natasha's parents, Administrative Assistant Pastor Carl Harris and Evangelist Janet Harris, raised her in True Holiness Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her late grandfather, Superintendent Pastor James C. Harris where she also accepted Christ and was baptized. Natasha became very active in church and was an active participant in Vacation Bible School, served as a Junior Nurse, Junior Usher, Sunday school student, hospitality team member, and last but not least sang in multiple choirs. She also participated in the church's 1st Trip Around the World Food Fest and won 1st place for her homemade Chicago Style Pizza.
Natasha was a very smart and brilliant young lady she attended Chateaux School, and graduated from Tabernacle Christian Academy, Thornton Township High School. She also attended Illinois State University and later received her Associated degree from South Suburban College. Natasha was currently attending college pursing her Bachelor's Degree. During her high school years, Natasha was very athletic and played Softball, Basketball and Volleyball alongside her best friend Aja Montgomery. Natasha enjoyed her youthful life as a daughter, sister, and friend.
Years later, Natasha brought her first born son into this world, Cortny Jamal Harris and he was the joy of her life. Not many years later Natasha met her love, Jeffery Maxey, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on August 1, 2009 by her uncle Bishop Herman Wayne Bell of at True Holiness Church of God in Christ. To this union five children were born, Chrystinn, Chyna, Cymone, Chrysette, and her 2nd son Colbi. Natasha was an excellent wife, mother, bonus mother to Brittenay and Bianca, as well as the best daughter to her parents, and the best big sister to her siblings. She was her children's biggest cheerleader and she made sure her husband and children knew how much she loved them.
Natasha gave her family and friends her selfless devotion all the way up until health began to fail her. She wanted them to experience the best in life including top restaurants, great trips, plane rides and amusement parks. Natasha made sure her husband knew how much he meant to her by serving him good home cooked meals, celebrating him with birthday parties, surprised cruises, road trips, vacations and trips to visit extended family. Natasha started their family business, "Maxey Advancement Board Up Clean Out and Lawn Care Services." She was very ambitious, and she was more than a wife and mother. She was a great asset to her family by her hard work ethic. She became a manager at McDonalds, and advanced to working at AT&T phone service company for 10 years. She later worked in the City of Chicago for BNSF Railroad,
TSA Security at O'hare Airport, and a devoted employee of District 151 at Taft School and Coolidge Middle School. Later she started helping others by becoming a skilled tax preparer. She knew how important it was to be a positive example for her family, and she remained focused on their wellbeing.
Natasha departed this life on June 26, 2025 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Preceding her in passing was her grandparents; Superintendent Pastor James C. Harris, Herman Bell, and Mother Cecelia Cole Bell. She leaves her precious memories with her husband Jeffery Maxey; children: Cortny, Chrystinn, Chynna, Cymone, Chrysette, and Colbi; parents: Pastor Carl Harris, Evan.
