Nathan "Nate" L. Knop, age 37, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Nathan was born on June 9, 1986 in Peoria, IL to Frederick L. Knop, IV and Mary Jane Woods.
He is survived by his sons, Jackson and Lincoln Knop and the mother of his children, Kelsey Knop of Chillicothe; his father, Rick Knop, IV of Deerfield, WI; his mother, Caryn (Scott Lingenfelter) Knop of Chillicothe, IL; his step-father, Frank "Dell" Owens of Peoria, IL; his siblings, Colt (Ashley) Knop of Chillicothe, IL, Jami (Steve) Turner of Chillicothe, IL, Sharon (Joe) Rickey of Chillicothe, IL, Philip (Ciara Harper) Owens of Creve Coeur, IL, Ally (Isaac Koch) Knop of Chillicothe, IL; ten nieces and nephews, Kenzie, Kaden, Brody, Kasen, Aubree, Emma, Peyton, Greyson, Crew and Seylah; his grandparents, Richard and Carolyn Woods of Delavan, IL and Joyce Knop of Metamora, IL; his aunts and uncles, Jody Woods of Delavan, IL, Jimmy Woods of Delavan, IL and Darrin Gross of Chillicothe, IL; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane (Woods) Owens; his grandpa, Frederick "Fred" L. Knop, III, his grandparents, Carl and Jackie Gross; his aunt, Judy Zieglowsky; and his cousin, Mitchel Woods.
Nathan was a service tech for Carl's Season Control and this year marked his 20th year with the company. He was a member of the Tennessee Squire Association with Jack Daniels. Nathan enjoyed many passions which included hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He loved rooting for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs. Most importantly, Nathan loved being with his sons, his family and his friends. He touched many lives and although he has passed, he will continue to live on as an organ and tissue donor.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Rev. Edward Dutton will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for his two sons.
