Nathan Ray Russell, 39, passed away on February 2, 2024 in Libertyville, IL. Nathan was born on February 19, 1984 in Waukegan, IL to his loving mother Crystal Pociask.
Nathan graduated from McHenry West campus in 2002. He lived in various places around the country including Oregon, but moved back to McHenry in late 2019.
Nathan was a quirky, hilarious, and genuine guy. He touched so many life's along his travels and adventures. He was an entertainer to his core. He was always telling the most unique stories. He loved performing for people on the stage doing comedy or singing while playing his guitar. He also loved just sitting with his dog playing music. Most days you would find him at a nature preserve or the dog park because he loved the outdoors. He loved his dog and always said, I didn't rescue Boon, Boon rescued me.
He was one of the most compassionate individuals. He went out of his way to help anyone possible whether you were a best friend or stranger he just met. If you spent any amount of time with him, you knew just how special he was. He was a registered organ donor so even in death he impacted others life's. His organs saved 4 people's life's along with all the other people who will benefit from his other various donations. He was one of the greatest individuals to those who knew him and gave the greatest gift of himself to others.
He was always jotting down jokes, lyrics, or creating art. He had the most creative mind. He spent a lot of time creating logos, designs, etc. for different people and companies. Between his design creations and entertaining videos out there, he left an amazing footprint that will live on forever.
Nathan was so excited for his 40th birthday (Feb. 19th). He wanted to be in the best mental and physical shape and was putting in the work. He had a countdown going with his comedic spin. For this reason, his celebration of life is on February 18th.
As he once wrote - from the first second of life to the first second of death I'm going to take every breath till they lay me to rest. He will be missed greatly, but we know he'll be resting easy.
Nathan is survived by his parents: Crystal (Ken) Pociask and John (Jeanne) Lee; his siblings: Heather (Jason) Chapman, Ashley Lee (Jesse), Kacie Pociask (Mike), and Karly Pociask (Eric); his niece: McKenzie; his nephews: Rylan, Jaxon, Jack; his many cousins; and his beloved dog: Boon.
Nathan was preceded in death by his loving grandparents and his Aunt Sherri Saulmon.
A Visitation will be held for Nathan at Colonial Funeral Home (591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL 60050) on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
