Elgin Funeral HomeIt is with profound sadness yet peaceful hearts that we share the transitioning of Nathaniel Hudson, who was called home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 23, 1951, in Midland, Texas, Nathaniel lived a life marked by quiet devotion and a steadfast spirit.
Nathaniel was a true son of Midland, where he was born and raised. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Billie Jean Mitchell and Henry Mitchell. Nathaniel built a life rich in meaningful connections, choosing not to marry but to pour his love into his extended family and a wide circle of cherished friends.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Harriet Young, with whom he resided in Elgin, Texas. Nathaniel leaves behind a host of niece and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and one beloved great-great-nephew, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. His family extends to an infinite host of relatives, lifetime friends, and friends, many of whom are present today to honor his memory.
Some of Nathaniel’s hobbies included fishing, he loved nature, always said he was a fish in another life , he loved the ocean waters. He loved to go on trips with the church, he was committed and facilitated Celebrate recovery at his church for years. Worked in Ministry, was a mentor to the youth.
Nathaniel exemplified God's love in his daily walk, touching countless lives with his kindness, unwavering faith, and gentle demeanor. He lived a life that truly reflected the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." His legacy of love, faithfulness, and quiet strength will continue to resonate deeply within the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Nathaniel's life will be held at 115 Poppy Hills Cove South, Georgetown, Texas 78678, Saturday, August 2nd at 2:00 PM. All who were touched by Nathaniel's remarkable spirit are invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a life well-lived.
